The Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I.Satpayev is not only smithy of engineering personnel but the cultural center of students youth. 
Amateur activities of KazNTU named after K.I.Satpayev has a rich ancient traditions. That is 44 years annually in early spring is starts the traditional festival – contest “KazNTU spring” which in this year is concurred with the 75th anniversary of University. During the all festival days in an electronic indicator board and in internal TV is shown an advertisement and demonstration of concert, festival, seethes the viewers passion, repulsing the heat of the competitive struggle. The bright colorful spectacle is showed in the stage of Act Hall and charmed all present. The groups of amateur activities of Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I.Satpayev are known not only in Almaty and in republic but also in abroad. 
  Among them – the legendary pop group “Dos – Mukasan” – a laureate of an award of Lenin’s Komsomol of Kazakhstan, holder of gold medal of World Festival of Youth and Students in 1973 (Berlin), People’s Artist of RK, the laureate of State award, professor of Almaty conservatoire named after Kurmangazy – Bekbolat Tleuhanov. At the stage of university were read their works, poems and prose Iliyas Esenberlin, Medeu Sarseke, Iranbek Orazbayev, Kasymhan Begmanov. The dancing and choral group of university was the laureates of the National competitions, had performed in Congress Palace and in the opening of Olympiad 80 in Moscow.  
  In 2004 to the 70th Anniversary of University was written the new “Hymn of KazNTU” to the words of U.Sadykov – an author of the lyrics “Toy zhyry” and to the music of D.Suleev and M.Kusainov – the managers of legendary ensemble “Dos – Mukasan” and D.Kusainova. All solemn arrangements and concert programs are concluded by singing of hymn of KazNTU. 
  Today the festival concerts are holds in 25 nomination of competitive program.
The new Standing of Festival “KazNTU spring” is worked out and operated according to all cultural and mass arrangements in university are holds systematically during the year. An annual rating is sum up, and the Festival is a final event of year. 
  The students, postgraduate students and masters of full-time training, staff tutors and the employees can take part in the concert.  
In the structure of jury, confirmed by Rector’s Order are enters the neutral from the Institutes and College 7-9 peoples from among the representatives of structural subdivisions and social organizations of university. The generalized results of cultural and mass arrangements for an academic year are announced annually in Gala-concert (as a rule on 12 of April in the day of birthday K.I.Satpayev). The groups and managers of amateur activities and individual competitors of competition are awards on nominations. The Grand Prize, 3 ranks (I, II, III) for the groups of amateur activities of Institutes and Prize of viewer’s sympathy are determined. Sholpan Omirzakova is a Deputy Director of Department of the educational work, a Head of the department of amateur activities, working in this position since 2000 are makes a major contribution in development of amateur activities in university up to now. 
  The planning, organization and coordination of educational works are carries out under the leadership of the Vice-rector for educational work, Doctor of philosophical sciences, professor, “Honorable Worker of Education of RK”, the cultural worker of RK, an academician of Kazakhstan’s Academy of creation, awarded to the popular title “The legend of Kazakhstan’s variety” Sydykov Ulykpan Esilhanovich and graduating student of university Berdibaev Rat Shyndalievich, since 2001 heading the department of educational work of university.
