Plan of works of Association “Alumni” KazNTU named after K.I.Satpayev
Information for students, graduating students and employees of KazNTU
Department for Alumni Works is as a structural division created by the Rector’s Order in September, 2008.
The main task of Department of Alumni Works is a creation of Association of alumni and Council of trustees, organization and coordination of works of Council of Trustees both permanent base and in the frame of holding programs of Anniversary arrangements. Creation of data bank of alumni, making of an informational material about alumni, organization of meetings and information support of graduating students of last years.
Work program of the Department for Alumni Works:
- Participation of Association and Council of Trustees, initiative support of alumni in the frame of
holding of solemn events associated with 75th Anniversary of KazNTU;
- Formation and opening of branches of the Association in Kazakhstan, near and far abroad;
- Opening of printing agency of alumni;
- Making of almanac of alumni and representatives of University;
- Execution of directive instructions of Heads and organization committee in conformity of plan of events in preparation and holding of 75th Anniversary of Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I.Satpayev;
- Coordination activity of Association in compliance with the calendar plan of works of the Department for Alumni Works.

Omarov Yedige Ablaevich – Head of the Department for Alumni Works, was born in 08.04.1945 in Almaty city. In 1956 finished the secondary school №56 and entered the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute, the metallurgical department, Metallurgy of Non-ferrous Metals - 62.
In 1967 - after graduation of High School, he was worked as a fellow engineer in sector research laboratory of argil under the leadership of Head of laboratory, a Dean of department Nurmagambetov Halletdin Nazirovich.
In 1971 entered the postgraduate course of Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys for the sub department “High-temperature processes, theories and automation of stove”. The Heads of thesis work were outstanding metallurgist –heating engineer Mark Alekseevich Glinkov and remarkable teacher and inquisitive researcher Vahtang Valerianovich Kobahidze. The pedagogical activity began in KazPTI in 1975 as assistance, a senior tutor.
From 1980 was a Head of the sub department “Heating, ventilation and air conditioning”, where has headed more than 17 years. From 1991 to 1996 worked in a position of vice-rector for general and economic activity, also foreign relations of AACI – KazSACA.
In this difficult economic and political period the Alma - Ata Architecture Construction Institute was one of first in the Republic established the International relations with related High Schools in USA – Arizona University, Pima College (Arizona), High School of Architecture and Design, Pasadena city (California), Thailand – Asian Technological Institute (Bangkok), Turkey – Ulduz University (Istanbul), Greece - Athenian National Technical University, Great Britain – Universities Southampton, Plymouth, Israel – Jerusalem Independent University, Bethlehem University, China – Mining Institute (Urumchi), The South Korea – Sung Hwa University (Seoul), Poland – High Technical School named after Yuri Gagarin (Zelena-Gora city).
In 1993- 1995 was an initiator of joint project on organization of magistracy and opening of sub department “The scientific nature management” between KazSACA and British Gas – Southampton University (Great Britain), and also the participant of signing of memorandum-agreement in the central office of British Gas in Lids city (Great Britain) with following attendance of terminals «Ex.Pr British Gas», North Sea.
Since 2000 is worked as a representative, the manager of inspection and certification company SGS (Switzerland), and also a top manager of CCI Company (USA) on Kazakhstan and Central Asian region.
For these period is passed the study courses and trainings in Switzerland, Sweden, Austria and United States. He took parts in the International exhibitions and conferences in Kazakhstan and abroad.
In a line of his activity in Kazakhstan is worked with companies Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, Tengis ChevrOil, Turgay Petroleum, Petro Kazakhstan, KazMunaiGas and also enterprisers of metallurgical, mining and energetic industry. He has published more than 50 scientific works, authors’ certification, the theses and reports at the international conferences.
The scientific interests are an engineering ecology.
He is an honorable citizen of Tusson city (USA, Arizona).
